DURATION

Approximately three to four weeks following the receipt of the necessary portfolio.  A professional discussion, an exhibit of pertinent abilities, expertise, and experience, and a third-party verification of the proof will all take place during this time.

WHO ARE ELIGIBLE?

This certificate will give you official level Diploma qualifications in Youth Work. People who are educated, trained, caring and wish to work in early childhood education and community service industries are eligible. To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a total of least 180 hours of work in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency. The total number of hours may be applied collectively across all units of competency that include the requirement for workplace hours.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

This certification has no specific admission requirements. Candidates for the qualification must, however, be at least eighteen years old, possess at least twelve years of formal education, or the equivalent, and speak English fluently.

PACKAGING RULES

The students enrolled in CHC50413 Diploma of Youth Work, units of competency as listed below:

Total number of units = 21

• 17 core units
• 4 elective units, of which:

                  at least 1 must be selected from Practice elective units

                  at least 1 must be selected from General elective units

              up to 2 units may be selected from any endorsed Training Packages or accredited courses relevant to the work outcome.

All electives chosen must contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.
