WHO ARE ELIGIBLE?

You will receive official level Diploma degrees in Early Childhood Education and Care with this certificate. Those who want to work in the fields of early childhood education and community service and who are well-educated, well-trained, and compassionate are eligible. According to the Assessment Requirements of units of competency, the candidate must have worked a minimum of 280 hours in regulated Australian child care and education services to be eligible for this qualification. All competency units that incorporate the requirement for workplace hours may use the total number of hours as a whole.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Individuals who obtain either the CHC30113 or CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care are eligible to apply for this certification. In addition, applicants must be fluent in English, be at least eighteen years old, and have completed at least twelve years of schooling or its equivalent.

PACKAGING RULES

The students enrolled in CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, units of competency as listed below:

Total number of units = 15

  • 12 core units
  • 3 elective units, consisting of:
  • 2 units from the electives listed below

                     up to 1 unit from the list below, elsewhere in the CHC Community Services Training Package, or any other current Training Package or accredited course.

The selection of electives chosen must be guided by the job outcome sought, local sector requirements and the complexity of skills appropriate to the AQF level of this qualification.
